On Monday 24 March 2025, NAWMA staff and members of the NAWMA Board were joined by the Hon. Susan Close MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Climate, Environment and Water, Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Local Government and representatives from GISA, the EPA, Constituent and Client Councils to officially launch NAWMA’s new state-of-the-art Fibre Polishing Plant.
NAWMA now has the capacity to recover more than 31,000 tonnes of mixed paper and cardboard from yellow-lid recycling bins across 31 growing councils in South Australia and Victoria. The addition of the Fibre Polishing Plant to NAWMA’s operations will ensure that these materials are recycled to their highest potential, meeting stringent environmental standards while also maximising their value on the international export market, as well as securing over 50 jobs for Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
Thank you to all the businesses who played an integral role in the design and construction of the Fibre Polishing Plant and to all those who joined on the day to commemorate this achievement.
