NAWMA’s statement in response to the current Collections Contractors industrial negotiations
The Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA) is proud to provide leading waste and resource recovery services on behalf of its constituent councils – City of Salisbury, City of Playford, and Town of Gawler.
The current industrial negotiations are between contractor Veolia as the employer, the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and their members.
We are actively engaged in discussions with Veolia, to understand the nature of their negotiations with their employees and the avenues for resolution. NAWMA is aware of the proposed strike action being discussed and takes these matters seriously.
NAWMA remains dedicated to ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality waste management and resource recovery services for the local community.
Our primary focus is to ensure ongoing service provision to our community with no disruption to services, and to see Veolia reach a solution that supports both their workforce and the long-term sustainability of services for our communities.
We are confident that with ongoing communication, Veolia can address the concerns raised with the TWU and avoid any interruption to services.
