Good Friday in 2015 will fall on April 3rd therefore any collections due on this day will take place on Saturday 4th April 2015

Please note a lot of residents do go away during this holiday period which means less bins presented for collection therefore your collection may be earlier than usual, please make sure all the bins are presented on the kerb before 7am to ensure you don't miss your collection

Kerbside Collection Services

NAWMA manages kerbside waste, recycling and garden and food organics collection services for about 115,000 properties throughout the Gawler, Playford, Salisbury and Barossa Council areas. Almost 300,000 individual bins require delivery, registration, regular emptying, maintenance and replacement.

NAWMA runs extensive education and community awareness programs on its leading edge waste management operations.

  • 140 litre red lid household waste bin;
  • 240 litre yellow lid recyclables bin; and
  • 240 litre green lid bin for garden and food organics.

NAWMA residents can purchase a brand new 240 litre bin for garden organics from us for just $56 pick up or for $65 we will deliver (this price will remain the same for the 2016-2017 financial year). Ring free-call 1800 111 004 for more details.

Household waste bins are emptied weekly and recyclables bins fortnightly. Garden and food organics bins are emptied on the alternate week to the collection of recyclables.

Collection dates are clearly marked on the NAWMA calendar that is circulated each year to residents. Bins should be placed on the kerb, with wheels closest to your home, by 7.00am on the day of collection. Keep a minimum of 30cm distance between each bin, and keep the bins clear of parked vehicles and other obstructions such as trees and electricity poles.

In line with NAWMA's commitment to environmental sustainability, kerbside collection is carried out by a fleet of trucks powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). This reduces greenhouse gas emissions and noise. The trucks are fitted with on-board computers to capture data allowing monitoring of operations to ensure timely and efficient collection services.

For further information, ring the freecall number 1800 111 004 (fees may apply from mobiles) or (08) 8259 2100.
